| Descripción: | Picture taken on the 24th February 2007, inside a hard metamorphic rock fissure, at Turó Catiu d'Or, Montseny,Barcelona, 1660 m. altitute, on the top of the mountain. Circumpolar distribution, alpine stage, saxicolous, on acid rocks. Scarce in Catalonia, mentioned in the Pyrenees (Cadí, Cerdanya) and Montseny. Foliose lichen, up to 8 cms, generally less wide, external lobes with a characteristic form "intestine contorted" giving the name to the species, grey blue colour, 1,5-2 mms wide, with spots yellow and apices of the lobes tinged yellow-brown (not all). Lower surface black, no rhizines. Black picnidia very evident sunk in the thallus. Thallus K+ yellow Medulla Cl-, P+ rusry red Very rare and probably affected by pollution. Growing in windy places.
