Image Details

Descripción: Picture taken at Turó Catiu d'Or, Montseny, Barcelona, 1660 m. altitude, on schists, silicious rock, on the 25th February 2007.

It is a lichen very similar to Lecanora muralis forming part of its group. It is not very frequent or perhaps it has been misunderstood. It does not apperar in the Catalan Biodiversity Data Base, although it has been already mentioned by lichenologists. It is included in the Spanish lichen check-list by Drs. Llimona & Hladún, and in the Check List of Aragón by Dr. Xavier Llimona. It is found both on sedimentary and acid rocks. Holarctic distribution. Sometimes it grows together with L. muralis (not at Montseny).

Saxicolous, thallus adherent to substratum, from pale yellow-green to deep green based on humidity. It differs from Lecanora muralis by its lobes convex, swollen, inflated, sinuous and plicate. Lecanorine apothecia, numerous, disc very variable in colour from green to almost orange.

To be studied in depth if I get the Poelt paper on Lecanora.

To be included in the BDBC.

Molt bona
