Picture taken on the 9th April 2007, at "Gorges du Segre", Bains de Llo, Llo, Oriental Pyrenees, France, on an iron metal-rich siliceous rock, in a permanent water-track, very clean waters, vertical 90º, West oriented, 1.380 m altitude. Very interesting association, it was found with the following lichens:
Micarea sylvicola 2.2 f
Ionaspis lacustris 3.3 f
Lecanora epanora 1.1 s
Acarospora sinopica +.1 s
Micarea sylvicola is a scarce lichen. In Catalonia it has been mentioned by Ester Gaya at Saint Antoni mine, Ribes de Freser, Girona. It is a species related to iron ore and it appears in iron metal-rich areas.

Saxicolous, siliceous, crustose lichen, continuous thallus, 0,1-0,3 mm thick, fissurate, not very areolate, grey-green, delimitated by a black prothallus, apothecia black, sessile, protruding, 0,3-0,6 mm in diameter.
A very good presence in the photo of Ionaspis lacustris, fertile, already mentioned in this virtual Flora, although with a very good view of the thallus. It is asthonishing to see them immersed.
