Peltigera leucophlebia (=P. aphtosa var. variolosa)
Image Details
Descripción:
Picture taken on the 21/04/2007 near El Brull, Montseny mountain, Barcelona, on soil, calcareous rock substratum, opened flat surface, very damp, mossy, near an oak forest.
Common, although very confused with Peltigera britannica. Mentioned in Catalonia from Montseny and Aigüestortes.
Foliose thallus, groups up to 15 cm, very green when wet, normally on calcareous rocks (although it is possible on acidic rocks too), cephalodia (small flat warts containing cyanobacteria) flat, tiny, not easily removed, no white scars from the cephalodia lost, sometimes white dots with a different cause, underside with white veins near the lobes margins.
No spot reactions.
Picture for comparing with Peltigera britannica, look at the different form of cephalodia.
Excel·lent macro per poder evitar noves confussions entre les 2 espècies. Molt interessants les explicacions fonamentals, també, per evitar les confussions.
