Image Details

Descripción: Picture taken on the 8th July 2007 at TTer Vell marshes, Estartit, Torroella de Montgrí, Girona, Catalonia, on Tamarix sp. bark, North oriented, vertical, close to a way near the sea, 0,2 m. altitude.

Common lichen, both epiphitic and saxicolous on siliceous rocks, warm places, thermophilous, near the sea, frequent in the Mediterranean area on Quercus suber.

Fruticose lichen, mainly corticolous, not very tall, thallus grey-green, matt, almost not branched, with large lobes becoming more inflated at the tips, sometimes wrinkled lobes that in certain places brake, offering difform holes opened and showing farinose soredia.

K-, C-, KC-. Divaricaric acid.

I have not studied the cortex, but in the South of Spain it is necessary to do it due to the presence of R. lacera (burguearic acid)
