Picture taken during the summer at Targasona, Alta Cerdanya, Oriental Pyrenees, France, on granite, siliceous rock, exposed, 1.650 m. altitude.
Not mentioned in the Catalan Biodiversity Data Base, but frequent in the rest of Spain. Rare, but appears in different places of Europe, upland in cold regions.
Squamulose thallus, areolate, brun-noir. Small areoles 0,2-2 mm large, margins uprolled. Apothecia 0,3-0,7 mms, black, lecanorines, persistant thalus margin.
No spot reactions.
Determination based on the work of two super first rate amateur naturalists.
