Descripción: Picture taken during the summer at Targasonne, Alta Cerdanya, Oriental Pyrenees, France, insede the town, 1.650 m., on granite but with calcareous remains coming from construction materials.

Not very common in Catalonia, mentioned at Aiguestortes and Alinyà Valley.

Thallus grey giving name to the species, formed of small squamules, up to 4 mm, clousely grouped. Squamules with white pruina, sometimes with black colour,areolate. Very fertile,perithecia all black with a slightly protruding ostiole.
