Peltula euploca, Ochrolechia parella and Lichinella sp.
Image Details
Descripción:
Picture taken close to Sant Marçal ermitage, Montseny, on a siliceous rock, with Ochrolechia parella and Lichinella sp. ?,
Squamulous thallus, epilithic, border of the thallus with grey soralia (not in all cases), sometimes squamules imbricate, thallus brown-grey.
It has been already mentioned by Dr. Nestor Hladun in Aportació a la Flora morfologia i vegetació dels líquens de la part alta del Montseny, pag.119.
Peltula euploca normally grows with Lichina sp., Wirth mentions Lichinella cribellifera and Lichinella stipatula. Dr. N. Hladun has found L. Stipatula at Montseny, but in the present case thallus are too young for a good determination.
Be careful with Peltula omphaliza, very similar but without soredia at the thallus border.
See very good picture in Wirth et alter, Guía de Campo de los Líquenes, musgos y hepáticas, Edit. Omega, pag. 143.
