| Descripción: | Picture taken on the 31st December 2007 near Tagamanent Mountain, Montseny, Barcelona, Catalonia, on almost flat siliceous rock, sandstone, 5 x aprox. Crustose lichen very frequent in Spain, from the Mediterranean region to Montseny and Pyrenees. It has been already mentioned in this virtual lichen guide. Lichens are part of our lives, they grow slowly but they could last almost forever if we let them. Simon Barnes last 5th January devoted his column in The Times to lichens, he said: "these unmentionable stains hold the meaning of life".
