Descripción:
Picture taken on the 13th January 2008, at Remolar Reserve, Viladecans, Llobregat Delta, Barcelona, on timber.
Lecidia insidiosa is a parasitic lichen exclusively on Lecanora varia. Following Poelt " it kills the plectenchyma of the host, but presumably takes over part of the host-algae to build its own thallus, first inside, then outside of the host thallus."
The apothecia disc of Lecanora varia appears of black colour due to the parasitic lichen.
