Descripción: Picture taken at Targasonne, Northern Pyrenees, Alta Cerdanya, Catalogne Nord, France, on granite, siliceous rock, flat surface, exposed, 1.650 m. altitude.

It is a common species at altitude, in nitrophilous places and ornithocoprophilous lichen communities.

Crustose lichen, not calcicole, growing on siliceous rocks, Thallus K+ (yellow and red as blood later on), Medulla and cortex K+ red, small spores. Thallus areolate, relatively flat, warty in certain cases, white to grey, normally without ochreous tinge. Apothecia frequent, ronds with irregular thalline margin. Sometimes without spores and the presence of pycnidia, with small conidia (pycnidiospores).
