Caloplaca flavocitrina and Trapeliopsis granulosa

Image Details

Descripción: Picture taken on the 9th March 2008 at Vivers Can Borni, Barcelona, Collserola, Catalonia, horizontal position, constructive material, nitrophilous, with Caloplaca lactea var. lactea, Trapeliopsis granulosa, Lecanora dispersa and Placynthiella sp (?).

Not mentioned before neither in Spain nor in Catalonia because it was probably determined as Caloplaca citrina. Caloplaca flavocitrina belongs to the Caloplaca citrina group, and a lot of times they grow together.

Crustose lichen, thallus not large, formed of separate angular areoles, green, orange sometimes. A lot of yellow soredia arise from the edges of the areoles contrasting with the green colour of the areoles. Apothecia very small, concolourous.

It is very unrecorded due to recent naming.

See F. Dobson Lichens's book pag 102.
