Descripción: | Picture taken on the 24th February 2007, on horizontal schists, silicious rocks, at Turó Catiu d'Or, Montseny, Barcelona, 1.660 m. altitude. It is a common lichen in Europe, wide spread on acid rocks and sometimes cemeteries, sculptures and walls. Frequent in Catalonia mentioned in several places, Maresma, Cap de Creus, Olot region, Vall d'Aran,Cap de Creus, Aiguestortes, Montseny and Cerdanya. Crustose lichen, thallus areolated, granulous, warted, relativelly thick, white to pale grey. Apothecia numerous, black, shiny,immersed, up to 1 mm in diameter,initially, disc flat to convex, thin thalline margin, disappearing when mature. Similar to Lecidella stigmatea, but in this species the thallus is thiner, margin of apothecia is matt, and normally greyer than Lecidella carpathica, growing more on sedimentary rocks.
