Descripción: | Picture taken on the third May 2008 near Sant Jaume Ermitage, not far from Almemara Alta, Almenara range of Mountains, Lleida, Catalonia, on gypsicolous soil, in a very rich community with: Acarospora placodiformis Psora decipiens Squamarina lentigera Toninia sedifolia Fulgensia desertorum Fulgensia poelti Fulgensia bracteata ? Psora saviezii Acarospora nodulosa Diploschistes diacapsis Buellia epigea and sometimes it is posible to find a lichen carried out by the wind Teloschistes lacunosus. In the picture you can see a small plant, Helianthemum squamatum. The lichens grow in the alliance Gypsophilon. There, it is posible to observe: Ruac (Ononis tridentata) Tríncola (Gypsophila hispanica) Heliantem esquamós (Helianthemum squamatum) and Tarantula nests. Dr. Xavier Llimona defined the association Acarosporetum placodiforme-reagentis (inside the alliance Toninion coeruleonigricantis) and the list of species found belongs to this association. X. Foliose terricolous lichen always linked to gypsicolous soils, thick thallus more or less squamulous with rifged lobed rims, from white to pale green. It grows to 6 cms, apothecia sometimes not present, prominent, disc from brown to red. Very common in the Ebro valley on gypsum.
